I think that episode demonstrates idiocy, not anything praiseworthy.
Tricking someone into eating something that they don't consider to be
food is the sort of humour that appeals to two-year-olds.  Feeding
meat to vegetarians and crowing over having "converted" them is
derivative, tired, cliched, and boring.  But then any joke wears thin
after the first ten thousand or so repetitions.
