I live not too far away from here, it may well be worth a drive out if
you recommend it. Let me know how your next taste tester goes!

Favourite London Pub list

Went to a pub called The Holly Bush last night. It's about a 3 minute
walk up a steep hill from Hampstead Station.

	http://www.hollybushpub.com

Nice old pub with wooden floors and original features without being too
dingy or, conversely, too trying-to-look-trendily-old either. Not too
empty but not too busy either - we were fortunate enough to get a small
nook at the end of the room so we were slightly away from everything.

Beers on tap were mostly a mixture of Pride, Adnams and Broadside and
Harvey's Suffolk Best Bitter - which was decidely moreish. However I
stuck to wine most of the night - a decidely tasty (albeit
pricey) Terlaner Classico.

The food is excellent - there's nothing on the menu that I didn't
consider, even the Wild Mushroom and Smoked Tofu pie (with a Dill and
Soured Cream sauce).

I ended up plumping for the Pan Roast Chicken with Paprika and Beer
sauce with Sauteed Potatoes which was delicious and moist. My companion
had the 21-day hung rump Steak which she asked to be done Medium Rare.
It turned out to be more Meidum than she'd like but definitely still
good.

So, in short, definitely worth a visit and I shall be returning to test
the beers more thoroughly and see whether the slight overcooking of the
steak was an aberration.

Oh, woe is me ;)
