it's surprisingly nice.  i had it at a gypsy restaurant in the outer 
mission district in SF a few years ago.  i thought it would be really 
good for summer...and i don't even like cherries.

as for fruity foods:
i make a chicken bukharan pilau with loads of raisins and cinnamon and 
a touch of sugar, and it's fairly nice.
