I was staying with a French family when I was young (about 13 or 14 I
think) and they asked me to cook an English breakfast.

It turned out to be surprisingly difficult. Obviously eggs, mushrooms
and tomatoes were easy enough but the bacon was much more like
prosciutto, I used Boudin Noir instea dof black pudding and even toast
proved to be tricky - they didn't have a toaster and sliced bread was
much sweeter.

Worked out ok in the end though - the good old fry up seems to be able
to transcend cultural boundaries.
