Just before Xmas we went to scotland and my mother in law served us tuna with some side dishes of leek and red onion and wild rice. - I've emailed her for the meal recipe - it was LOVELY! (But fattening) - her email below. The meal was grilled tuna although I usually just pan fry it in a tiny bit of olive oil. The sauce was finely chopped leeks and red onion with white wine and cream. Just throw in the leeks and red onion into a hot frying pan with a little olive oil and butter and sauteed then shove in some wine and finally some cream. If you don't want the wine and cream you can add some soft cheese if you prefer maybe Boursin which goes really creamy. The rice I add some finely chopped chilli's - red and green and mushrooms just add anything that you like. Spinach and chopped french beans are lovely and you can also add some garlic if you like. -----Original Message----- From: salvo [mailto:sprofita@xxxxxxxx.xx.xx] Sent: 30 December 2006 16:57 To: london.food@xxxxxxxxxx.xxx Subject: [london.food] Any tuna inspiration? I have a good line caught tuna steak, some winter greens and store cupboard ingredients inc. noodles & plenty of spices. No fresh herbs. Any suggestions what I can do with it tonight? I'm thinking something involving soy sauce/fish sauce/garlic ? i like my tuna rare natch. culinary ideas welcome salvo ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
