I may have to resurrect my hand blender - what receptacle do you use?  If 
I use a bowl I plaster the kitchen with chickpeas...

Also, I still prefer the taste of shop bought houmous - any hints or 
recipes?

Will do - I have also seen it in health food shops - it may be one you 
have already tried, but I like it well enough, not having had the real 
thing for over a year now...
