I'm co-hosting a dinner party and, as part of the deal, all three of us are going to make a different pate as part of the starters. So I've been trying to think of interesting recipes rather than the bog standard pork or chicken liver type affairs. One idea I had was beef and horsradish, baed loosely off this recipe http://www.emerils.com/recipes/by_name/beef_and_wild_mushroom_pate_with_a_cognac_mustard_sauce.html but I'm open to ideas.
