That's also the way the food industry makes things taste like, err,
anything, by using yeast extracts. The proteins in some yeast strains are a
lot like meat proteins, and can thus denature in the same way. That's also
why those pot noodle type thingies can be both beef flavored and vegetarian=

My brother sells this stuff to factories all over the world for DSM food
specialties, and it pains me that he's so damn good at it. The 'industry'
will always prefer easy, continous and cheap substitutes over decent cookin=

methods. ..
