I agree on the paprika front - i always wack a load of that in for the
chilli-ish flavour without the heat of chilli.
I also always put in some cocoa - for my normal big pot (that serves about
8) i'll chuck in a large tablespoon or two. It gives it a richer and
slightly burnt flavour.
