Coffee. A a tsp or tbsp, depending on amount and taste, of isnatnt
coffee granuals. Gives chilli a lovely smokey taste.
I tried making chilli last week with just tomatos and it came out very
insipid tasting, presumably because tomatos aren't particulalr good now.
It perked up when I added pasata. Next time I may try roastingthe
tomatos first.
