I agree - however I usually bake a potato by nuking it for 5 minutes (to
half-cook it) and then putting it in the oven for half an hour (to make
the skin crispy).

Egg-foam... my folks always make scrambled eggs in the microwave and I
can't stand it. But they can't stand my slightly wobbly scrambled eggs
with butter and lots of salt and pepper, so we're even.
RE: steaming things: those stackable steamers are great, if you get one
you may never boil anything ever again.
